What's New for the 2018 Nissan 370Z® Coupe?

It has been five decades since the Z-car debuted under the Datsun brand. Now in its sixth generation of production, the vaunted sports coupe—now known as the 370Z—enters the 2018 model year with minimal changes. The Heritage Edition model, which was introduced the year before, is now available in black and white exterior finishes, instead of yellow. Other than that, the 370Z is still the same car it has been for most of its production cycle. Below the Heritage, Edition trim is the base-level model; above it is the Sport, Sport Touring, and NISMO®.

Powering the 2018 Nissan 370Z is a 3.7-liter V6 engine, which produces 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic gearbox. If you go with the top-performance-level NISMO® trim, the car’s engine will be boosted with a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe configuration. Possessing a front-engine rear-wheel-drive layout, the 370Z—which is designed as a two-door coupe—has an evened-out weight distribution from front to back for better balance and handling on the road. As a two-seater, it offers a passenger volume of 51.6 cubic feet, as well as a cargo space of 6.9 cubic feet; the seating consists of an 8-way driver’s seat and a 4-way passenger seat: both manually adjustable. Upgrading in trim can introduce enhancements or additions such as leather-trimmed seating, aluminum-trimmed pedals, and power adjustability and heating capability for the seats. The Heritage Edition model stands out from the other trims with exterior graphics and yellow interior trim details. Standard comfort and convenience features include cruise control, dash-mounted storage, Bluetooth® technology for hands-free phone operation, illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls, a smart key system (Nissan Intelligent Key) with push-button engine start, and a four-speaker system that incorporates a single-disc CD/MP3/WMA player. Upper-level trims are more likely to get additions or enhancements such as dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a garage-door opener, a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM® satellite radio, active noise cancellation and sound enhancement technologies, an eight-speaker Bose® audio system with dual subwoofers, speed-sensitive volume control, and 7-inch touchscreen navigation (instead of the dash-mounted storage). Regarding safety, the 2018 Nissan 370Z starts off with features like vehicle dynamic control; traction control; four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist; and dual front impact, dual side impact, and dual side curtain airbags. The NISMO® comes with larger disc brakes for improved stopping ability, and the Heritage trim has an additional vehicle immobilizer system.
