What's New for the 2019 Nissan Versa Note?

Introduced to the North American market for the 2014 model year, the Note has functioned as the hatchback-style smaller and sportier version of Nissan’s subcompact sedan, the Versa. For 2019, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration and a three-month SiriusXM Radio trial are made optional for the mid-tier SV trim and standard on the top-level SR. The S serves as the base-level trim. All trims use a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which produces 109 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque and is glued to a continuously variable transmission. With a comparatively tiny engine, a transmission without the energy-consuming gear-shifting mechanism, and a front-wheel drivetrain, the Versa Note provides an impressive fuel economy of 31 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.

Two rows of seats on the 2019 Nissan Versa Note provide room for up to five occupants. Passenger volume and cargo volume are measured at 94.1 cubic feet and 18.8 cubic feet, respectively. However, if you fold down the rear seats, you can expand cargo volume into the cabin for a max volume of 38.3 cubic feet. Cloth upholstery and front seating that includes a 4-way manually adjustable driver’s seat are standard. At the SV trim level, the cloth seat surfaces are upgraded, the driver’s seat is bumped up to 6-way manual adjustability, the steering wheel is wrapped in leather, and the Versa Note gets the Divide-N-Hide cargo system to customize the luggage area for accommodating a wide variety of items. As the most sport-oriented trim of the bunch, the SR stands out with premium sport synthetic suede seat trim with orange accents and stitching, as well as a Nissan Z car-inspired racing-style leather-wrapped steering wheel.

For comfort and convenience, the Versa Note gets features such as four-speaker audio, Bluetooth wireless technology for streaming audio and hands-free phone operation, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack for connecting portable media devices, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging ability, and a 7-inch touchscreen display. The SV is bolstered with cruise control and remote keyless entry. And the SR introduces smart keyless access, push-button engine start, NissanConnect for infotainment integration, and the aforementioned Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps and three-month SiriusXM Radio trial subscription. For safety, the Note gets six airbags (two front impact airbags, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and two side curtain airbags), vehicle dynamic control, traction control, four-wheel anti-lock braking, electronic brake-force distribution, a rearview camera, and brake assist. Engine immobilization is added on the SR as a security mechanism.
