Serving Troy, MI

For the last several decades, car shoppers have been able to choose between top models like the Nissan Sentra and the Nissan Altima. These gorgeous sedans are close siblings in today’s lineup at Suburban Nissan of Troy. While they have a few similarities, understanding their differences will help you pick out your next Nissan with real confidence.

Performance

As is the case with all Nissan vehicles, the Sentra and the Altima are engineered to produce a smooth ride and to deliver excitement behind the wheel. The Sentra is a smaller car that is offered in three trim levels. The only powertrain offered for the 2020 Sentra is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder powertrain. It delivers a respectable 149 horsepower. The 2020 Nissan Altima is provided with two powertrains across the seven trim levels. The entry-level option is a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter gas engine that gives off 188 horsepower. You can have control over 248 horsepower if you step up to an Altima loaded with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter Compression Turbo engine.

Appearance

Visually, the 2020 Sentra and the 2020 Altima have a few similarities and several significant differences. For example, on the front end, they have a comparable grille design with a U-shaped bar and chrome finish. They also have low ground clearance, a sporty façade, and 16 to 18-inch wheels. The 2020 Altima, however, is a larger vehicle. As a result, it is visually longer and leaner. In one Altima trim level, 19-inch wheels are standard. Additional exterior features across these two beautiful models include remote entry, LED lighting, heated side mirrors, a sunroof, and more. Numerous trim-specific differences require your attention before you pick out your next Nissan.

Features

At various trim levels across both of these Nissan models, you can find shared features. These include hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Nissan Connect, an 8-inch display screen, and leatherette or premium cloth material. The Altima has a few features that are not offered in any of the Altima’s trim levels. These are leather seats, driver’s memory settings, wood trim, and others.
