Performance
While there are vast differences between the 2021 and 2022 versions of the Frontier, these great options have the same powertrain and capabilities. Specifically, all trims for both model years receive 310 horsepower from a 3.8-liter V6 gas engine. The powertrain is linked to a nine-speed auto transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is available.
Appearance
The 2021 Frontier and the 2022 versions are stunningly different throughout the exterior. For 2021, the Frontier has a cube-shaped cab. This is combined with an angled, smooth hood and Nissan’s V-motion grille style. Large headlights flank the grille with angled definition. In comparison, the 2022 Frontier has rectangular headlights with a similar shape through the grille. The upper and lower edges of the headlights are highlighted with LED light bars. Additional features on the 2022 Frontier are squared-off wheel wells, defined fenders, and a front skid plate.
Features
The interior of the 2022 Frontier has a fresh look with a larger central display screen and more space throughout the first and second rows. The 2021 and 2022 versions of the Frontier share many of the same features at different trim levels. These include a sunroof, a navigation system, cloth or leather material, a quality sound system, a push-button ignition, cruise control, a climate management system, USB ports, and a wide range of additional features.
